Daniel McKenzie

Daniel is the Research Director for the Accountability Project Institute in Ohio, where he leads the organization's efforts to produce credible, data-driven research on public policy, government accountability, and civic issues.

Daniel has extensive experience in communications and research. His experience includes serving as the Communication Coordinator for an organization whose leader came under national scrutiny, giving him a good deal of first-hand experience managing crises. He also has experience in general communications, having spent the last seven years as a freelancer with start-ups and large organizations with communications needs both externally and internally. Daniel has strong video editing and writing skills, which he uses to further our work on behalf of our clients.

Daniel is a 2022 graduate of Massey University in Wellington, New Zealand. While studying, he achieved high academic recognition, including becoming a Massey scholar and earning two Dean's List awards.

Daniel spent three years in California going to school. He currently lives in Columbus, Ohio, but originally hails from Whakatane, New Zealand. In his free time, he enjoys playing and watching sports, making videos, and playing board games.
