What makes this book special

Imagine the joy of little hands stirring batter while Grandma shares tales of courage and faith—from the Christians who journeyed from Europe seeking religious freedom, to the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Lewis and Clark's adventure, Francis Scott Key's anthem, the Civil War, Gold Rush, Industrial Revolution, Wright Brothers' flight, World Wars I and II, Martin Luther King's “I Have a Dream” speech, Neil Armstrong's moon landing, and the unity after 9/11.

Grounded in the traditional conservative values and Christian teachings that shaped our Founding Fathers, this book lovingly affirms a cherished perspective: that God has a special plan for America, the nation most families see as a beacon of hope on earth.

Perfect for children ages 5-11—read aloud to spark wonder in the youngest or explored independently by older ones—it's a treasured resource for parents, grandparents, homeschooling families, Christian school teachers, and churches eager to nurture patriotism, faith, and moral character in young hearts.

The book wraps up the adventure with fun word games to make learning playful, plus Grandma's simple recipe for baking a “Happy 250th Birthday America” cake, ideal for creating lasting family memories!

Guided by faith and historical care, author Mark Weaver frames key American events so young readers can sense God’s presence through America’s beginnings, tests, and achievements. He writes with clarity and warmth, translating complexity into meaning—uplifting children’s spirits while delivering accurate historical context families can trust and discuss together.

Illustrator Dan McKenzie brings each era to life in full color: the spray of Atlantic waves on a small wooden ship, the hush of Independence Hall, the sweep of prairie grass under Lewis and Clark’s boots, the rumble of factories, the cloth wings of a fragile flyer at Kitty Hawk, the proud moment of the moon landing, and the solemn light at ground zero.

The United States will commemorate the Semiquincentennial—250 years since the Declaration of Independence—on July 4, 2026. National institutions including the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission/America250, the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian, the U.S. Mint, and others have encouraged communities to engage families and students in reflective, age‑appropriate learning.
